Classic Margarita With A Twist

🍹 Mezcal margaritas are really pop’n.

MEZCAL: The smoky brother of tequila. Made from blue agave just like tequila, mezcal’s agave gets buried with hot rocks and smoked whereas tequila gets baked in stone ovens. (File that under “Today I Learned.”)

🌶️ For this easy mezcal margarita recipe, we’re gonna spice things up with a kickin’ Tummy Tamer soda, your favorite mezcal, and Cointeau (or any orange liqueur).

The Tummy Tamer is our naturally sweetened KICK-me-up with no added sugar. Just ginger, lemon, cayenne pepper, and sparkling✨ water.*

*That’s it!

Total Time: 5 Minutes

Ingredients (for 2 servings):

  • 1 can of Tummy Tamer

  • 3 ounces mezcal

  • 2 ounces Cointreau (or any orange liqueur)

  • ice

  • optional: agave nectar or simple syrup for sweetening

  • also optional: 🥒 cucumber wedge and salt for rimming the glass

Instructions

  1. If you want salt-rimmed glasses, start by running a cucumber slice around the top rim of a glass. Fill a shallow container with salt and touch the rim to the salt until it’s covered with your desired amount. Set aside.

  2. Add mezcal, Tummy Tamer, and Cointreau to a cocktail shaker, and stir (don’t shake!—unless you want an explosion ¯\_(ツ)_/¯) until combined.

  3. Taste! If you want a little extra sweetness, stir in a 1/2 teaspoon of agave or simple syrup until you find your desired level of sweetness.

  4. Fill glasses with ice.  And your margarita mixture. Serve immediately. Garnished with cucumber slice for a refreshing cocktail snack.

👩‍⚕️ Throughout the month of April, we’ll donate one case of Tummy Tamers to the nurses, doctors, maintenance workers, front line employees, and staff at Lancaster General Hospital for every one we sell.
